Patricia Irving Elected to Executive Committee of National Hydrogen Association

4-3-2008

SACRAMENTAO, CA - Dr. Patricia Irving, InnovaTek CEO, was elected to the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the National Hydrogen Association during the organization’s annual meeting in Sacramento. Earlier this year Irving was appointed to the Board as the Small Business Representative by Chairman Phillip Baxley of Shell Hydrogen, LLC. The National Hydrogen Association (NHA) is the Nation's premier hydrogen trade organization led by over 100 companies dedicated to supporting the transition to hydrogen as a clean, sustainable universal fuel.

Hydrogen is a flexible carrier of energy that works with all of the primary alternative energies being explored -- solar, wind, nuclear, coal, natural gas and biofuels. Hydrogen's versatility makes it an ideal fuel that can be made anywhere and used in a broad spectrum of applications -- power for buildings, automobiles, trucks and portable electronics. Hydrogen is also used to power cell phone towers and emergency back-up systems, as well as in forklifts.

Today, businesses, governments, researchers and universities, both in the U.S. and worldwide, are working together to make progress towards more widespread use of hydrogen. As a result, the global adoption of hydrogen as a fuel will improve energy security, reduce pollution, and spur economic growth.

Over 1200 attendees at this year's NHA Annual Hydrogen Conference with Hydrogen Expo US saw the latest advancements in hydrogen and fuel cell technologies. Industry players from all segments of the marketplace were represented at the Expo, including automakers, energy companies, hydrogen producers and fuel cell manufacturers. Twenty hydrogen vehicles were present from nine of the top manufacturers, including American Honda, BMW, Daimler, General Motors, Toyota, Ford, Hyundai, Nissan and Volkswagen, all of whom plan to have more hydrogen vehicles hit the road in the near future.
